Men & Women of Character is a community-based nonprofit organization committed to empowering youth, strengthening families, supporting adults, and honoring elders throughout the Trenton community. Our programs are rooted in leadership, mentorship, compassion, and real support. We intentionally connect generations, creating opportunities for growth, healing, stability, and long-term success.

Youth programs: Youth of action & character (Y.A.C.) & youth empowerment Saturdays (Y.E.S.)
These programs serve youth ages 8-18 by providing mentorship, leadership development, life skills training, and educational encouragement. Youth gain confidence, build leadership skills, and develop a strong sense of purpose while learning they are capable of achieving their goals, preparing them for lifelong success.
Women of strength & character
This program provides a supportive environment where women can develop leadership skills, build confidence, and strengthen their emotional and personal well-being. Participants benefit from leadership sessions, emotional wellness support, and peer mentorship, becoming stronger leaders, role models, and pillars of support within their families and community.
Men of integrity & character
This program provides mentorship, leadership development, and brotherhood support for men seeking personal growth and opportunities to serve their community. Men develop leadership skills and become stronger mentors, fathers, and positive influences in their families and community, inspiring the next generation.
Elders of wisdom, legacy & character
Our Elders program ensures seniors remain valued, respected, and actively connected to the community. Elders serve as mentors and advisors, sharing their life experiences and wisdom with younger generations, fostering intergenerational connections and a strong sense of belonging.
Sharing our ruby program
Created in loving honor of our late founder, Chaneta Ruby Leonard, this program provides direct support and essential resources to individuals and families facing hardship. We offer hygiene supplies, clothing, emergency assistance, and holiday support, delivering compassion and dignity to those in need.
Community support & outreach
Through initiatives like 'Feeding Our Friends,' we feed over 2,500 individuals annually, providing nourishment and compassionate support. We also offer hygiene, clothing, and essential needs support, along with scholarships and educational encouragement, investing in the future of our youth and ensuring community well-being.
